About LRC
The Tolani Maritime Institute Library is renamed to Learning Resource Centre (LRC) to attribute dynamism to the activities it functions. TMI Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is located on the ground floor of the MBCL ANNEX with a total carpet area of 7000 sq. ft. (650 sq. mt). A fully Air-conditioned LRC has a conducive atmosphere for reading with well-ventilated & adequately lighted infrastructure which accommodates 150 students at a time. LRC consists of various sections viz. Reading Hall, Journal Section, Reference Section, Circulation Section, Stack Section, Acquisition and Technical Section, Multimedia section, Reprographic Section, A/V Material Section, etc.

As far as the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is concerned the LRC is well-equipped with ICT infrastructure and automated its functions and services with the installation of Koha Library Automation software. The books issue/return system is implemented with the bar-code facility. The OPAC of the LRC is available on the web to browse the availability of books. Library has installed a User Tracking System to maintain the record of daily visitors.
The LRC exists to serve in accordance with Institute’s Mission and Policy. The LRC aids in the conservation of knowledge and is an active force in the teaching, research and extension programs of the Institute. Through direct assistance to its members, the LRC participates in the various functions of the Institute. Through its various services, the LRC helps faculty and students to gain knowledge for the benefit of the Institute, society and the nation at large. Thus modern Institute library aims to function as a dynamic instrument of education.
